Sai Nivas Mangu

Hey 👋 I’m Sai Nivas, and I am a Software Engineer and a Frontend Developer. But you already know that from the home page. This is a picture of me.

I use Vim shortcuts in VS Code and NeoVim in the Windows Terminal. With a typing speed of ~0WPM*, I am productive in my development with the help of custom snippets and sheer will. And because I stay away from the mouse as much as possible.

Since my technical skills are already on the home page, here are a few things that interest me.

I like watching films, listening to music, making music, and reading books. In that order.

I have been engaging in films for a long time. I have an active Letterboxd account where I write my silly little one-liner reviews and a less active Instagram page where I share my love for movies.

My interest in music ranges from multi-genre film music to American hip-hop. Artists like J Dilla have been an influence on the way I perceive music. I make sample-based hip-hop instrumentals. I love what I do, but I have been in a creative slump for a while now.

I am a slow reader. I got into reading through non-fiction. I first read Austin Kleon’s STEAL LIKE AN ARTIST! ,SHOW YOUR WORK!, and KEEP GOING!. Then I delved into my interest in Stoicism, got into philosophy, read Dune because the movie was great, read The Wizard of Earthsea because it was recommended by a YouTuber and Metamorphosis because Kafka. I am currently trying (very hard) to read The Myth of Sisyphus by Albert Camus.
